In thin-film photovoltaic production, deposition is an ideal choice for creating active, transparent conducting oxide (TCO) and anti-reflective coating layers. At Smit Ovens, we can design and deliver the right equipment for your application.

In deposition, versatility is our watchword. We can supply you with anything from just the thermal components all the way up to a complete deposition system. And we cover a wide range of techniques including chemical vapor deposition (CVD), vapor transport deposition (VTD), spraying and dipping.

Our continuous ovens are often employed with inert atmospheres with less than or equal to 10 parts per million oxygen. Specially designed injectors guarantee laminar or turbulent flow (according to your application). Together with highly uniform and precisely controlled temperatures, this enables layer thickness uniformity of ± 5%.

Optical and electrical properties as well as surface morphology can often be optimized to suit your specific application.
